Tuskeegee Airmen at Roosevelt’s Little White House Feb. 9

Here’s a chance to see some real heroes and ride at the same time. The famed Tuskeegee Airmen will be at Roosevelt’s Little White House Historic Site near Warm Springs, Georgia on Saturday, February 9 from 10:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m. (More information here.) This African-American fighter unit flew 15,553 sorties during WWII and completed 1578 missions without losing one bomber that they escorted. (See their website here.) The Atlanta chapter of the Patriot Guard Riders will form a flag line for them, so this should really be something to see. As a personal note, it has been a true honor for me to live during a time where I could meet and talk to WWII veterans - real heroes in my book. If you have kids, it’s important for them to meet the people who paid for their freedom. Let’s show them that the motorcycling community in Georgia really appreciates what they did.
