You Can Help End Insurance Discrimination Against Motorcyclists

The American Motorcyclist Association is calling motorcyclists to action to support a bill in the House of Representatives that would end discrimination against motorcyclists by health insurance companies. The bill (H.R. 1076 - HIPAA Recreational Injury Technical Correction Act) would close a loophole in the original HIPAA bill that allowed health insurance companies to deny coverage for injuries incurred in lawful recreational activities (like motorcycling). Last year, a similar bill correcting the problem passed the Senate, but stalled in the House. This bill has 101 co-sponsors in the House, but needs 218 votes to pass.
